Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. ABA therapy applies our understanding of how behavior works to real situations. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning.

Training for parents

Parent training is a program that trains parents and caregivers in techniques and strategies to manage their children’s behavior and help them develop social and life skills. Its objective is for parents to become actively involved in their child’s learning process and to contribute to the advancement of their child’s cognitive development.

Verbal Behavioral Programs

Verbal Behavior Therapy is a method of teaching communication and language skills. Its objective is to help the child understand when and why words are used to express what he/she wants. The therapy is based on teaching the child to make requests and in exchange he is given images or objects, in this way he will know that when he says the word he will receive the object and will begin to associate them, there are three types of language for this method:

Mands: It is a request, like saying “dulce” to ask for candy.
Tact: It is a call for attention, like saying “carro” when you see a car.
Intraverbal: It is a response, like saying “casa” when asked where you live.
Echoic: It is a repetition, repeating “bicicleta” after someone said “bicicleta”.

Life skills programs

Life skills are the abilities we have to lead an autonomous life and face the challenges we face. Some of these skills are:

  • Assertive communication.
  • Empathy.
  • Decision making.
  • Conflict management.

Developing these skills allows children to improve their social relationships and their environment, increase their confidence and improve their communication skills.
